changes

I couldn't stand the thought of posting another set of images on this blog!!! I think it's pretty, but it's not good for photography AT ALL. We have purchased a new blog, which is currently being created. I can't wait to get the thing going. I have a ton to post. We will be doing so much more with this new one--including "a post a day" for sure. ( I hope! Hahaha) We have so many new wonderful images to post. It's going to be exciting to get started. Hopefully very soon. Keep checking back for the new link!

We had two weeks off from weddings. We did an Engagement Session and worked on the studio a ton. We will be opening in mid September! Finally! We had to wait for the construction to end. Who wants to have a grand opening when the front of your building is fenced off and barely visible--not us. Email us from the site to schedule your fall sessions. They will be a mix of on location and studio setting. We have some gorgeous new holiday cards to choose from (samples will be going up on the new blog.)

There is a lot to say about the new studio. Complete details and a photo tour of the studio will be posted on the new blog, as well.

It's back to weddings with two to shoot this weekend continuing straight up until Halloween. Love is in the air :)

Adios, all.

chad + susan | rockford, il wedding photographer

Chad and Susan were married back in July. Here is a selection from their big day--starting with a few details! We had fun with Susan's dress while she was getting her hair done :)

LOVE the colors in these next few shots!! The bright orange she included in her wedding colors really stood out and made the photos pop.

This was their "snack bar" while they were getting ready at the church. I have to say--this is the largest snack bar we have ever seen! They made sure everyone was well taken care of the entire day :)

I really like the next shot. They were using the little scissors out of this sewing kit to fix the dress in some way--I didn't really hear what was going on! I was pretty much laying sideways on the ground trying to get the exact shot I was looking for. I think I might switch it up to black and white.

I couldn't help myself with the next shot. Luckily it was a clean toilet.

A few more lovely details:

Time for the ceremony--a few favorites!

We shot private time and the wedding party photos at a few different locations, one being Midway Village. I'm pretty sure all of images below came from that location. We do a lot of the "whisper in her/his ear kind of thing"... so I don't think I realized what exactly I was capturing when I took this. It cracked me up when I got home and saw it. Chad doesn't look too excited, but he doesn't seem to be completely against it either! What a face!

As you can see, we had fun with some old vintage ae cameras we have for "props" (oh, how I hate that word)--and we were really pleased with the way they turned out. One of the images I posted in a previous blog will be going above the couch in the studio!

Chad and Susan are huge Bears fans, so Susan arranged to have Staley come to the reception as a surprise for Chad. We have waaaay too many great shots from his "photo shoot" out in the parking lot! He is quite the character!

Thanks for letting us be a part of your day! We had a great time and hope you love your photos!!

zaq + amber | la moille, il wedding photographer

Zaq and Amber had a small backyard wedding in July and have been patiently waiting for a blog preview :) The time has finally come!

We kicked things off by shooting private time as soon as Amber arrived. Here are a few favroites!

This photo is one we chose to put on display at Borders in DeKalb. Check it out--our stuff will be up through the first week of September!

Some unique details, including a color coordinated candy bar--which looked very delicious!

We had a fun time photographing the wedding party at a small place down the road from their ceremony/reception site. They were a very easy group to photograph!

Here are a very shots with their adorable kids, Zavery and Izzaq.

So Zaq wrote a song for Amber and sang it to her the wedding... every girl's dream. It was very sweet! Here is a shot of Zaq singing to his lady and another shot of Amber watching... awww :)

Some more private time shots for your enjoyment:

And finally, here is "ae" hard at work ;) Amber set up her mac and had their guests use the Photo Booth to snap a picture of themselves for an album. She suggested we get our photo taken, so naturally, I snapped a photo while it took one of us.

We had a wonderful time photographing your wedding! You guys were so much fun and so easy to work with! Thanks for letting us be a part of your day :) We hope you enjoy the blog sneak peek!

P.S. I do plan on making a watermark and sticking to it sometime in the near future. Until then, enjoy our various, spur-of-the-moment designs.
